The United States Military History Webring

This is the original website for the United States Military History Webring.

The United States Military History Webring was/is composed of websites devoted to the military history of the United States of America from the Colonial Wars to the most recent global conflicts in which U.S. troops have been involved. The current policy-makers of the WebRing created a policy by which if a webmaster did not visit his/her webring for a period of about a month, the management of the webring would be taken away from him/her ~ not necessarily with him/her being aware of it. That is precisely what happened to this webring. Despite the fact that I had responded to new member applications on a timely basis, I failed to access the webring for a period of a month. I received no communication from the WebRing management that they were going to steal it from me, and only became aware that my webring ~ which I had put a lot of work and personal creativity into ~ had been taken away from me. I attempted to contact the WebRing management, but they have cleverly not created any way to contact them. To say the least I have felt violated and offended by the WebRing management's action, but there is no recourse for me. Despite the fact that this webring was literally stolen from my care, I have decided to maintain this page and continue to update the links to the ring's member sites.

The navigation bar below will take you to the Webring home page. Just click on the link labeled 'Ring Hub'.

You can access the various member sites by using the Webring Navigation Bar above, or by clicking on the icons below. Be aware that the links below may take you to the home page of the member site rather than to the page to which the webring is linked.

Please note that eighteen sites had to be removed from this page and unlinked from the United States Military History Webring because they either became inactive or the url to which the link was directed had been changed. Whatever the reason, the links had been broken by the website owners. Attempts were made to contact the website owners, but all attempts were unsuccessful, so the links had to be removed. If you are the owner of one of the sites that have been removed and unlinked, and wish to rejoin the ring, please rejoin.

A Military History Of The United States Of America

The people of the colonies in the North American continent, which would be declared the United States of America in 1776, were involved in a number of armed conflicts. Those conflicts were fought both on the soil of the United States of America and in foreign lands. The following is a chronological listing of those armed conflicts.

Please note that individual pages are in the process of being developed to provide more detailed information about the various conflicts listed. As those pages are developed, active hyperlinks will be attached to the eagle icons to the left of the conflict's title.

Please also note that while every effort has been made to make the information contained in these pages as accurate as possible, it is not possible for a single person to be an expert at everything. Also, extremely detailed coverage of each conflict would require far too much space on this site. Therefore, the visitor should view these pages as basic synopses, rather than as definitive and exhaustive treatises, of the events. Links will be made to websites which may offer more detailed information.

All of the information contained in the various pages linked to this page is Copyright 2000 Larry D. Smith.
