The Fifteenth U.S. Census ~ 1930

 

  The 1930 U.S. Census reflects the resident status as of the 1st of April, 1930.

     Information recorded on the 1930 U.S. Census:
     *  Name of state, county and village, town, city, township
            or district.
     *  Name of the census enumerator.
     *  Place of Abode [including:]
               *  Street, avenue, road, etc.
               *  House Number
               *  Number of dwelling house in order of visitation.
               *  Number of family in order of visitation.
     *  Name of every person whose place of abode on
            April 1, 1930, was in this family.
          Enter surname first, then the given name and middle
            initial, if any.
            Include every person living on April 1, 1930. Omit
            children born since April 1, 1930.
     *  Relationship of this person to the head of the family.
     *  Home Date [including:]
               *  Home owned or rented.
               *  Value of home, if owned, or monthly rental,
                if rented.
               *  Radio set.
               *  Does this family own a farm?
     *  Personal Description [including:]
               *  Sex.
               *  Color or race.
               *  Age at last birthday.
               *  Marital condition.
               *  Age at first marriage.
     *  Education [including:]
               *  Attended school or college any time since
               * Sept. 1, 1929.
               *  Whether able to read and write.
     *  Place of birth of each person enumerated and of his or
                her parents. If born in the United States, give State
                or Territory. If of foreign birth, give country in which
                birthplace is now situated. Distinguish Canada-French
                from Canada-English, and Irish Free State from
                Northern Ireland. [including:]

Cambria County is recorded on Rolls #2010, #2011, #2012, #2013 and #2014. Fulton County is recorded in Roll #2043. Huntingdon County is recorded on Rolls #2044 and #2045. Somerset County is recorded in Rolls #2149 and #2150.

  The records of each of the counties are divided into Enumeration Districts, commonly abbreviated as ED's. The Enumeration Districts follow, somewhat, the township, borough and city jurisdictions already established within the counties. The records for the county of Bedford are divided into forty-three EDs and assigned the numbers 5 - 1 through 5 - 43. The records for the county of Blair are divided into eighty-five EDs and assigned the numbers 7 - 1 through 7 - 85. The records for the county of Cambria are divided into one hundred and twenty-six EDs and assigned the numbers 11 - 1 through 11 - 126. The records for the county of Fulton are divided into twelve EDs and assigned the numbers 29 - 1 through 29 - 12. The records for the county of Huntingdon are divided into fifty-five EDs and assigned the numbers 31 - 1 through 31 - 55. The records for the county of Somerset are divided into sixty-seven EDs and assigned the numbers 56 - 1 through 56 - 67.
