William Muirhead was born between 1737 and 1750 in Scotland.(3.12)His connection to the other Muirheads is a mystery at this time.

  William married Katharine Rutherford in November, 1768 at South Leith, in Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland. Katharine was born some time between 1737 and 1750 also.

  The couple resided in Edinburgh, where they raised a family of ten children. They were: William Jr.; Robert, born 08 April, 1771; Isobell, born 24 August, 1772; James, born 26 May, 1774; Katherine, born 03 February, 1776 and died between 1776 and 1777; Catherine, born 19 March, 1777; Margaret, born 19 March, 1781; Agnes, born 07 March, 1784 and died between 1784 and 1787; Jane, born 06 December, 1785; and Agnes (2) born 24 October, 1787.

  William died after 1808. Katharineís deathdate is not known.

  Catherine Muirhead, daughter of William and Katharine Muirhead, married David Arthur Jr. on 20 November, 1805. He was born on 10 September, 1806 at Canongate, in Edinburgh. The couple gave birth to: David, born 10 September, 1806 and died 25 December, 1816; Janet, born 10 October, 1810; William, born 01 August, 1813 and died 30 November, 1813; Ann, born 27 February, 1815; Isabella, born 29 November, 1817 and died 14 July, 1820; and David (2) born 18 September, 1821 and died 23 March, 1822. Catherine died on 30 April, 1834.

  Jane Muirhead, daughter of William and Katharine Muirhead, married James Brown on 16 June, 1808 at Canongate, in Edinburgh. James and Jane gave birth to two children: William, born 15 November, 1810; and Jane M., born 08 June, 1814 and died circa 1891. Jane died prior to the year 1840.

  William Brown, son of James and Jane Brown, married Elizabeth Ross on 11 July, 1840 at St. Cuthberts, in Edinburgh. Elizabeth was born on 22 December, 1809 at Canongate, in Edinburgh. The couple gave birth to: Catherine, born 19 November, 1837; James, born 22 September, 1841; William Jr., born 22 December, 1843; Margaret, born 03 July, 1846; and Elizabeth Jane, born 19 June, 1849. Elizabeth died at some time between 1849 and 1872 at Duddingston, in Edinburgh. William died on 16 June, 1890.

  Margaret Brown, daughter of William and Elizabeth Brown, married Alexander Russell Forrest on 06 September, 1872 at Abbeyhill, in Edinburgh. Alexander was born in the year 1849 in Carluke Parish, Lanarkshire. The couple gave birth to: Elizabeth Ross, born 07 July, 1873 and died 1962; Jessie Russell, born 24 January, 1875 and died between 1881 and 1891; Margaret Brown, born 1877 and died circa 1965; Jane Muirhead, born 05 October, 1879 and died 20 October, 1952; Catherine, born 17 October, 1880 and died circa 1962; and Lillias Russell, born 1890. Alexander died on 18 August, 1910 in the Barnhill Poor House in Gargadhill, Glasgow. Margaret died on 01 June, 1922 at Old Kilpatrick in Dunbarton.

  Elizabeth Ross Forrest, daughter of Alexander and Margaret Forrest, married Robert Munro. The couple is said to have given birth to eight children, which included a set of male twins.

  Jane Muirhead Forrest, daughter of Alexander and Margaret Forrest, died at the Frankford Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

  Lillias Russell Forrest, daughter of Alexander and Margaret Forrest, married Murray Munro at Glasgow.

    Elizabeth Jane Brown, daughter of William and Elizabeth Brown, married James Robertson on 29 October, 1875 at Edinburgh. James was born in the year 1851 in Edinburgh. The couple had two children: James Jr., born 1877; and Elizabeth, born 1878.
