Records of births are less commonly found in collections of church records than baptismal records because most denominations of the Christian religion place greater emphasis on the spiritual, rather than the material, life of its members. But some of the churches’ records do include the actual date of birth. The inclusion or lack thereof was really up to either the pastor or church secretary who was writing the entries.
