Elizabeth Tussey

Elizabeth Tussey is a Friend of Mother Bedford. Elizabeth's namesake ancestor was an early settler of Bedford County, Pennsylvania. She homesteaded along the western slope of a mountain range that bears her surname. Local history states that the Eighteenth Century Elizabeth Tussey maintained a tavern at Aliquippa Gap, where the Raystown Branch of the Juniata River cuts through Tussey Mountain.

Elizabeth does not have a website to share, but it is interesting to note that she is currently focused on collecting yDNA haplogroup data from Dean and Tussey descendants in an attempt to sort out the various familial lines in the area as well as trying to learn more about her namesake, the early Bedford County settler, Elizabeth Tussey.

I want to thank Elizabeth for becoming a Friend of MotherBedford.com.
