Stone Arrow Head      Exhibit 1
   1-5/16" Length x 7/8" Width

This is an example of a stone arrow head used by the indigenous inhabitants of the New World prior to the arrival of the Euro-Americans. This arrowhead was found in the region encompassed by present-day Bedford County. Its shape suggests that it comes from the Archaic cultural period which lasted from approximately 8000 BC to 1000 BC.
