Powder Horn      Exhibit 6

This is another example of a powder horn produced between the 1790s and the 1910s.
The horn is incised with a line drawing, and the lines have been filled with an ink. Also, certain parts, such as the horse and the human figure's clothes, have been given a wash of black and red ink. The overall feel of the drawing is Spanish; the pennant flags display the design of the national flag of Chile. The horn, therefore, might have been intended to show a Chilean Gaucho. Its age is difficult to be determined.
This horn measures ten (10) inches in length and two and one-half (2-1/2) inches in diameter at the wide end.
