Spatula     Exhibit 1
     {Length: 14-1/2"}

     This is an example of a spatula. Spatulas were used during the Colonial Period by housewives to flip and lift food, such as bread, that they were baking on a hearth. Spatulas were also used for stirring, mixing, or scraping. A spatula was used like a spoon with the exception that the shape of the 'bowl' being flat did not allow for liquids to be picked up.
