     The complete title for this book is: JERUSALEM DELIVERED: AN HEROIC POEM. Translated from the Italian of Torquato Tasso, By John Hoole. With four elegant engravings. In two volumes - Vol. I.
     The Italian author, Torquato Tasso was born on 11 March 1544 and died on 25 April 1595. He is best known for his poem La Gerusalemme liberata, or Jerusalem Delivered, which was first published in the year 1580. The book's subject was the First Crusade, especially that of the siege of Jerusalem.
