{Width: 3-7/8"; Height: 6-5/8"; Thickness: 1-1/16"}

     The complete title of this book is: A SHORT CRITICAL REVIEW OF THE POLITICAL LIFE OF OLIVER CROMWELL, Lord Protector of the Commonwealth of England, Scotland, and Ireland. By a Gentleman of the Middle-Temple. The Fourth Edition, carefully revised, and greatly enlarged in every chapter, by the author; who has now first added an Appendix, containing many curious pieces, both in prose and verse, relating to the history and character of the Lord Protector. As noted in the title, the author's name was omitted and simply given as a Gentleman of the Middle-Temple. John Bancks (variously, Banks) was born in the year 1709 and died in 1751.
      The book was published in thirty-nine editions, beginning in 1739. This fourth edition was published at Glasgow by James Knox and sold at his shop in the Salt-market.
