     The complete title to the first book in this volume is: SANCTI PATRIS MACARII AEGYPTII HOMILIAE. Io. Georgivs Pritivs Textum Graecum accurate reuidit, & in sectiones dispescuit, Latinamque versionem quamplurimis in locis emendatiorem magisque perspicuam reddidit, adnotatis vbique, ad quae prouocatur, scripture: sacrae dictis. The book was published at Leipzig by J. Grossius as shown on the title page: Lipsiae, Sumtibus Viduae & Haeredum Ioannis Grossii. Literis Christoph. Fleischeri.
      The author of this work, shown on the title page as Io. Georgivs Pritivs, was Johann Georg Pritius (1662-1732). The title refers to homilies (i.e. sermons or lectures) by Makarios the Egyptian, who lived ca 300-390.
     The book is printed with the text in both Greek and Latin. The Greek text appears on the inside column of each page, while the Latin text appears in the outside column.
