The complete title to this work is: VERDADEROS ENTRETENIMIENTOS DEL GLORIOSO SENOR SAN FRANCISCO DE SALES, OBISPO, Y PRINCIPE DE GENEVA. FUNDADOR DE LA ORDEN DE LA VISITACION DE SANTA MARIA, Y TERCERO DE LA NUESTRO PADRE S. FRANCISCO DE PAVLA. CON UN PAPEL INTITULALDO.
St. Francis of Sales (1567 to 1622) was Bishop of Geneva. He wrote a number of 'addresses' to the Sisters of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin, an order founded with his assistance by St. Jane Frances de Chantal. These addresses were translated into Spanish by Francisco de Cubillas Donyague, and published in the form of this volume, whose title translates as: Spiritual Conferences, with the first edition in 1667 and continuing to 1768.
This volume, like others which were printed in the 1600s and 1700s in Spain, does not have hard covers. They are constructed simply of calfskin leather stretched over paper or cardboard.
