Agnes Muirhead was a ‘sister uterine’ of John Somerville of Barnhowrie.(3.27) That refers to the fact that she and John had the same mother, but different fathers. Agnes married William Ogilvie, a minister. William was born circa 1689. He was ordained as the Chaplain to the 7th Dragoons at London in 1712. He was presented by William Nisbet of Dirleton, and admitted on 26 January 1715. The couple gave birth to: Henrietta, Anna, and Agnes. William died in January 1729.

  Henrietta Ogilvie, daughter of William and Agnes Ogilvie, married Dougal Maclaurin, a painter at Canongate.

  Agnes Ogilvie, daughter of William and Agnes Ogilvie, married Alexander Hogg.
